This is a multi-agency course designed as essential core level training for those who have some involvement in their work with child protection cases. This virtual training is made up of Part 1 and Part 2.

This virtual learning is for childminders/nannies who are Designated leads/team members responsible for Safeguarding in an Early Years setting.  

Only Childminders and Nannies can attend.

You need to be available to join virtual learning on both days ( 13 & 20 November 2021).  You also need to have access to a PC or laptop or iPad and the internet to be able to join in this learning.

This dynamic, high-quality presentation provides practitioners with an in-depth insight into the online world of children.

• Understand how children are using the internet, with an in-depth examination of websites, games and apps being used.
• Recognise the importance of Online Safety education for children, and have the confidence to differentiate between speaking to young children and older children.
• Be able to signpost where children can seek help from and know what specific organisations can offer in terms of support.
• Examine the risks and dangers that children are vulnerable to online.
• Analyse the way children should behave and interact with others online.
• Understand how to make things safer at home for children when using the internet and how professionals can effectively protect children against online dangers.

This virtual learning is for all Designated leads/team members responsible for Safeguarding in the Education setting.

• Alternative provisions
• PRU's
• Colleges

You need to be available to join learning online on both days (19 & 20 January 2022).  You also need to have access to a PC or laptop or iPad and the internet to be able to join in this learning.

This virtual learning is for all Designated leads/team members responsible for Safeguarding in the wider workforce.

Those who can attend are people in:
• Voluntary Sector
• Private Sector
• NHS
• Out of School Providers
• Local Authority (Inc. Social Care

You need to be available to join online on both days (10 & 11 February 2022). You will need access to a PC or laptop or iPad and the internet to be able to join in this learning.
