Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP)
This Prevent course is specifically aimed at supporting frontline social care staff in understanding the Prevent duty as it relates to safeguarding, what makes children vulnerable, and how to identify risks and report concerns. It will include both core government-approved training and the opportunity for a Q&A and wider discussion. The session lasts 120 minutes.
Essential InformationThe 'Rosie 2' is a CPD certified interactive training which assesses parental capacity and neglect in complex families. This training offers experiencial learning opportunity where learners can explore a variety of child protection issues for reflection and training: best practice; communication; assessment; mental health; disguised compliance; impact of parental behaviours on the child; recognising the signs and symptoms of emotional abuse and neglect; health and hygiene; child development; teenage carer; men; levels of risks; threshold; considerations of effective multi-agency working; shared approach and follow up; how to improve support and care; assessment of the safety of children living in abusive/neglectful conditions
Please note that this is a 2part course. The part 2 of this training (My Court Room: Rosie's family go to court) will take place on 10 March 2021 at 1pm
Essential InformationThis is a full day interactive virtual learning with multiple breaks in between to examine case studies, watch video clips and complete exercises to explore the issue of child sexual exploitation and trafficking; it’s link to other forms of exploitation; how to recognize, approach and work alongside young people and families in developing effective intervention strategies to reduce risk and harm.
